The Project
SI Club Szombathely has initiated a project called “Medicine for Ukraine”, which aims to help women and girls in need, the people in Ukraine suffering from the tragic consequences of the war. The Club wants to provide help by collecting and transporting health products, mainly medicine and bandages, to Ukraine, with the help of a pharmaceutical company and in cooperation with the local organization of Maltese Charity Service.
As a neighboring country, Hungary is strongly involved in the tragic event happening there. According to the latest data (10 March 2022) there are approximatively 180.000 Ukrainian citizens as refugees in Hungary and the number is continuously growing. The town of Szombathely has also sheltered families who fled from Ukraine, mainly mothers with their children. The aim of the project is to help both people in Ukraine and those who fled as refugees to Hungary. They all need medical help, especially treatment of injuries and those of special consequences of extreme weather and environment conditions.
